🌍 From Game Development to Community Building
The story of GTC Café begins in 2022, when we moved to Helsinki after being invited by Business Finland to develop our game project, Vinar.
As game developers, our work has always been about creating experiences that bring people together. But after arriving in Helsinki, we discovered something surprising:
➡️ A large portion of people live alone
➡️ Many struggle to find meaningful social interaction
💡 The Moment That Changed Everything
In early 2023, we saw a powerful campaign by the Red Cross, telling the story of Geppetto—the lonely father of Pinocchio.
The message was clear:
People need connection.
That moment inspired us to think beyond digital games.
🎲 Why GTC Café Was Created
We asked ourselves:
How can we create a space where people truly connect?
The answer became GTC Kahvila—a place where:
- People meet and interact face-to-face
- Games become tools for connection
- Creativity brings people together
In May 2023, after months of work and investment, GTC Café officially opened in Kamppi, Helsinki.
