“Mafia” is a group and deduction game that simulates a battle between an informed minority and an uninformed majority. This game requires a minimum of 5 players, and each player is assigned a specific role.
In “Mafia,” effective communication, maintaining composure, and presenting logical arguments play crucial roles in achieving victory. Players receive their roles secretly; the mafia members know each other, while the citizens are only aware of the total number of mafia members and some of the roles. During the night phase, the mafia secretly chooses a citizen to eliminate, while the doctor attempts to save the intended target. The detective works to uncover the identity of the mafia and, if successful, must convince the other citizens of their discovery. The main characters in the game are the Mafia, Doctor, Citizen, and Detective, though additional roles such as the Sniper can be introduced in different variations.
During the daytime phase, all surviving players engage in discussions to unveil the identities of the mafia members and collectively vote to eliminate a suspected individual.
The game continues until either all mafia members are eliminated (resulting in a victory for the citizens) or until the number of mafia and citizens is equal, leading to a victory for the mafia.
